LimaHum ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the
choices you have. By using the LimaHum app, you agree to the collection
and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: such as your name, email address, and role (individual, volunteer, or organization) when you register or sign in.
- Profile and verification information: such as phone number, country, identity document images, and selfie images, if you choose to complete identity verification.
- Content you submit: such as help requests, help offers, project details, messages sent to other users, and support/funding proposals.
- Camera and photo access: used only when you choose to take or upload a photo (for example, for identity verification or project images).
- Microphone access: used only when you choose to record audio within the app.
- Usage and presence information: such as whether your account is currently online, and basic activity timestamps, to support features like chat.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To connect you with other users for help requests, offers, projects, and funding proposals.
- To enable direct messaging (chat) between users.
- To review and approve identity verification requests.
- To respond to support inquiries you submit through the app.
- To maintain the safety and integrity of the platform, including reviewing reports submitted by users.
3. No Direct Payment Processing
LimaHum does not process payments or transfer money within the app.
The app is a platform for communication, negotiation, and coordination
between individuals, volunteers, and organizations. Any financial
arrangement, support, or funding agreed upon between users happens
outside of the app, directly between the parties involved.
4. Data Storage
Your information is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore
Database, Firebase Authentication, and related Firebase services).
Firebase applies industry-standard security practices to protect
stored data.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following cases:
- With other users, when you choose to submit a public request, offer, or project, or when you send a chat message.
- With our service providers (such as Firebase/Google Cloud) solely to operate the app.
- When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and platform.
6. Your Choices
- You can edit or delete certain profile information from within the app.
- You can choose not to complete identity verification, though some features may be limited as a result.
- You can contact us at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
7. Children's Privacy
LimaHum is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will
be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
